The Effects of the FloodsBy Ben Turpin I first started fishing the fabled waters of the Brodhead Creek in the spring of 1994 when I was in college at East Stroudsburg University. My friends and I had success on most of the Pocono streams, but if you wanted big fish, you went to the Brodhead. The creek was not as pristine as it was in early days when it was home to the early fly fishermen, but it had mostly recovered from the scars of the 1955 flood that lead to its channelization. I was fortunate enough to meet up with Don Baylor and Mike Penn, who showed me the ropes and helped me learn this historic creek.
